Invitation to the exhibition ‘Into the Depths of Fungi’
Come and see the exhibition of the SAMOROST project called ‘Into the Depths of Fungi’.
You will learn about everything that went into creating the SAMOROST House, which uses mycelium as a sustainable alternative to traditional, non-organic materials. A cross-section of the house will show you in practice where the myco-composite can be used in construction.
The SAMOROST House is being built under the auspices of the Minister of the Environment, Petr Hladík.
The partner and host of the exhibition “Into the Depths of Fungi” until 17 November was the National Technical Library, which provided its gallery for this purpose. Now the exhibition is hosted by the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague, which has provided the atrium of the Faculty of Environmental Sciences until 17 January 2025.
Are you still full of impressions from the exhibition ‘Into the Depths of Fungi’? Share them with us. If you haven’t been to the exhibition yet, definitely go, it’s worth it…
But the unicorn has not disappeared from the National Technical Library (NTK). The NTK represents the National Centre for Information Support for Research, Development and Innovation (NCIP). The centre’s Corporate Services Department manages thematic ‘information nests’ on current trends, and presents comprehensive information, including research outputs, on sustainable mycelium-based building materials in its new ‘Smart Materials’ information nest. The aim is to raise public awareness of these trends and, in particular, the potential uses of myco-composite. In addition to its real-life, physical form, the nest also occurs as a digital version: a thematic mini-web with information on planned activities in the Smart Materials section. The information nest can be found on the 3rd floor of the NTK in Dejvice.
